Here at Nasa Security, we know you care about your home, and we want to help you keep it safe. To do this, we offer a wide range of high-quality alarm systems and monitoring services. However, even with the best security system, there are still steps you can take to increase your security even further and deter intruders. In this article, we’ll go over three simple ways you can improve your home security.
1. Keep Lights On- One step you can take to improve your home security is to make it look like you are at home even when you are travelling or just at the office to work. For example, we recommend that you put your lights on a timer to create the illusion of activity in your home even when you are staying somewhere else.
2. Get a House Sitter- An even better way to keep your home secure while you are on vacation is to get a house sitter to look after the place. Your house sitter can either stay in your home for the duration or stop by each day, but either way, they can get the mail, pull any packages off the porch, and generally make your home look lived in. Burglars are much less likely to target a house if it looks like someone is home.
3. Ditch Your Hide-a-Key- Another thing you can do to improve your home security is to keep all the keys to your home secure and out of reach. Keeping a spare key under the doormat or even in a fake rock may offer greater convenience, but it will make it easier for potential intruders to get inside your home—all they will have to do is find your spare key and let themselves in. If you are worried about getting locked out, we recommend you install keypad locks on your exterior doors to give you the perfect balance of convenience and security.
